Pintu, a resident of Sakran village in the Kotwali area, worked as a scrap dealer. After eating dinner on Wednesday night, he lay down in his room. On Thursday morning at 7 am, when his mother Usha went to call Pintu for tea, the door was locked from inside. She called out several times, but when he did not respond, she looked through the window and saw his body hanging from a noose of a gamchha. She was distraught after seeing this. During investigation, the mother told the police that nine years ago her son was married to Aarti, a resident of Mohana village in Kanpur countryside. Two months ago, after a quarrel with her husband, Aarti had gone to her maternal home.
On Wednesday night, the son had a long phone conversation with his daughter-in-law. During this time, there was a lot of dispute between the two. The police have seized Pintu’s mobile. Kotwal Amarnath Yadav said that the incident is being investigated from all angles.
