Unnao. The family is distraught after two innocent brothers playing on an empty plot were killed by a wall with a gate. The post-mortem of the elder brother was done in Kanpur and that of the younger one in Unnao. The bodies of both reached home in the afternoon. The family alleges that the plot owner has threatened them to do whatever they want. The police got the children’s bodies cremated after assuring action.
Aditya (14), son of Munna Gautam, a resident of Pitambarnagar locality of the city, his brother Pranshu (9) and Saras (11), son of neighbour Shekhar, were playing outside the house on Tuesday evening. During this time, they reached the empty plot of Purushottam Soni, a resident of Aavas Vikas. There, Pranshu died on the spot and Aditya died in Kanpur Hallet when the gate along with the wall collapsed.
Saras is being treated at Hallet. He regained consciousness late on Wednesday night and started talking. Aditya’s post-mortem was done at Kanpur Hallet and Pranshu’s in Unnao. After 2 pm, when the bodies of the younger brother and then the elder brother reached home, the atmosphere became gloomy. Mother Aarti became distraught after seeing the bodies of two children. The people present sprinkled water on her and brought her back to consciousness. When both the bodies were being taken to Ganga Ghat at around 3:30 pm, tears welled up in the eyes of the people present.
The family members said that even after such a big incident, the plot owner not only refused to come but also threatened that he will not come and do whatever you want. The family members also told this to Kila Chowki in-charge Indradev Upadhyay.
Kotwal Avneesh Singh said that the bodies have been buried for now and action will be taken on whatever complaint the family gives.
