Sitapur News: Revolver disappeared from the police station’s storehouse

Sitapur. A revolver went missing from the police station’s storeroom. The matter came to light when the victim pleaded for the revolver. Now the police have filed a case against a retired policeman to avoid embarrassment. The case is related to Imalia Sultanpur police station.

In 2012, the police had registered a case under the Arms Act against Furkan, a resident of Hajipur village of Imalia Sultanpur. The police had sent the revolver found with Furkan to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Lucknow. After the investigation, when the revolver was returned, the then head clerk had entered it in the return of goods in report number three on January 2, 2015. After which the revolver disappeared from the police station’s storeroom. When Furkan submitted an application in the matter on June 8, 2023, the CO sought a report from the station house officer.

According to the SO, the current head clerk Mohammad Parvez Khan said that the charge of the revolver was not given to him by the head clerk posted here before him. When the then head clerk Mahesh Chandra was talked to, he also did not give any satisfactory answer. He did not appear even after giving notice. The entire report was sent to the Circle Officer on February 2, 2024. The investigation of CO Sadar Satish Chandra Shukla found negligence of the then head clerk. After this, SP Chakresh Mishra ordered to register a case. The SO has registered a case against the then head clerk Mahesh Chandra in the police station.
The retired head constable did not maintain the storeroom properly while holding the important post of head clerk, due to which the above weapon could not be found anywhere. In the preliminary investigation, retired head constable Mahesh Chandra was found guilty. A case has been registered against him.
