Sitapur. The salaries of the secretaries of 18 resource cooperative societies who were negligent in wheat procurement have been stopped. Less than 50 quintals of wheat have been purchased at the procurement centers operated by the concerned secretaries. After the displeasure of DM Abhishek Anand, Assistant Commissioner, Cooperative Naveen Chandra Shukla has sent a letter to the presidents of the concerned societies regarding stopping the salaries.
Under the price support scheme, the purchase of wheat at the wheat purchasing centers operating in the district is being monitored on a daily basis by the district administration. The report of wheat purchased daily center-wise from each tehsil is being sent to the ADM, District Procurement Officer.
Wheat is also being procured by B PACS cooperative societies. On review, it was found that less than 50 quintals of wheat has been procured by 18 societies.
