Maholi (Sitapur). An old man who had gone to graze cattle near Majra Sitarampur village of Bhagwanpur Grant Gram Panchayat on Tuesday afternoon was attacked by a wild animal. He was seriously injured in the attack. The old man has been admitted to the district hospital. On receiving the information, the forest department team has started searching for the animal.
Mahesh Yadav (70), a resident of Sitarampur, had gone to graze his cattle at Imaliya Ghat on the banks of the Kathina River near the village on Tuesday afternoon. He said that in the afternoon, a tiger suddenly came out of the bushes and attacked him.
The farmers and other shepherds working in the neighboring fields raised an alarm. Hearing the noise, the tiger ran away. The elderly man suffered deep wounds on his face and hand in the tiger attack. The family members took him to CHC, from where the doctors referred him to the district hospital.
