Hargaon. Two groups of the same community came face to face during the construction of a platform at a religious place. The village head and his associates attacked the police team that arrived after being informed about the dispute. During this, lathi-charge and stone pelting took place in which a sub-inspector and two constables were injured. SP Chakresh Mishra said that 20 miscreants have been arrested in this case. Teams have been formed to arrest the absconding accused. Police force is deployed in the village. Some people have been taken into custody and are being questioned.
A dispute broke out late Saturday night over the construction of a platform for a religious place in Majra Ismailpur of Jalalipur Dehat village of the area. On receiving the information, Sub-Inspector Amarjit Singh reached the spot along with constables Yogesh and Vinod. There was a dispute going on between village head Aqeel, Latif and Ubaid. When they tried to pacify them, both sides became violent.
Sticks and stones were pelted from both sides. When the policemen tried to stop them, the accused beat them up. In this attack, Sub-Inspector Amarjit Singh and two constables were also injured. The police force which arrived after the information was also pelted with stones. After this, Sub-Inspector Amarjit Singh registered a case against 21 named and 25 unknown people.
People closed their doors and windows in panic.
During the attack on the policemen, people closed the doors and windows of their houses. Panic spread in the entire village. The policemen somehow managed to escape from there saving their lives. On Sunday, the roads of the village were seen covered with stones. The villagers also looked terrified.
The police have arrested
Mohd. Afaq, Mohd. Suhail, Waris Ali, Moin Ahmed, Chand Babu, Mohd. Aman, Arshad, Swaleen, Shakir Ali, Mohd. Yunus, Mohd. Imran, Ziaul Haq, Atib, Ehtisham, Ubaid, Suhail, Mohd. Adil, Danish, Mushir and Ashu alias Rahees involved in the crime and sent them to jail. Meanwhile, Gram Pradhan Aqeel is still away from the police custody. A case has also been registered against 20-25 unknown persons in this incident.
