Sitapur. Irregularities have come to light in the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. In 2018 such cases have come to light in which both husband and wife are receiving Kisan Samman Nidhi. This has been revealed by investigating the family IDs of the farmers. Its list has been sent to the Agriculture Department. After the intervention of the government, the department is getting it verified by 114 responsible persons. Action will be taken as per rules only after receiving its report.
There are about seven lakh PM Kisan Samman Nidhi beneficiaries in the district. The work of making their Farmer Registry is going on. It will have the account of their farming along with family and address etc. A list of 2018 couples of the district has been prepared at the government level with the help of Farmer ID and Aadhar, who are taking dual benefit of Kisan Samman Nidhi. 114 personnel have been given the responsibility of verifying the list of couples sent by the Agriculture Directorate after examining it. They will go to the homes of the concerned farmers and verify it. After this, they will provide the report. If in the investigation both the husband and wife are found taking Kisan Samman Nidhi, then along with stopping the Samman Nidhi of one member, recovery can also be done. For this, they will be sent a notice. Informed sources say that the wife’s Samman Nidhi can continue and the husband’s will be stopped.
There are seven tehsils in the district. In the list of couples who have received Kisan Samman Nidhi from the government, maximum 1727 couples are from Sadar tehsil. There are 53 couples from Misrikh, 34 from Mahmoodabad, 31 from Maholi, 54 from Laharpur, 38 from Biswan and 19 couples from tehsil Sidhauli. There are other couples too.
There are 21 couples in the district who are taking Kisan Samman Nidhi while residing in other districts. Their land is in Sitapur. These couples are residing at addresses in Lucknow, Lakhimpur-Kheri, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Barabanki.
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi was started in 2019. Its objective is to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers of the country. The benefit of the scheme is available to only that member of the family whose name is registered in the agricultural land documents. In a family, both farmer husband and wife cannot avail the benefit of the scheme together.
