There is a railway crossing near the cement factory between Bachhrawan and Kundanganj stations. Most of the trucks of the cement factory pass through the crossing. When there was a signal of the arrival of Vande Bharat Express going from Gorakhpur to Prayagraj, the crossing near the cement factory was being closed to allow it to pass.
Meanwhile, a truck loaded with cement moving towards the crossing collided with the gate. This caused a gate on the north side to break. Seeing the accident, the loco pilot of Vande Bharat Express stopped the train before the crossing. Vande Bharat stood for about five minutes, then the train was allowed to pass at a slow speed.
As soon as the news of the incident was received, a team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) reached from Bachhrawan. After this, the truck was taken into custody and taken to the RPF post in Bachhrawan. There was a problem in closing the crossing due to the gate being broken. The repair work went on for two hours. RPF post in-charge Dinesh Kumar Sharma said that the truck that broke the crossing gate has been taken into custody. A case has been registered. Action will be taken after investigation.
