Imalia Sultanpur (Sitapur). Villagers were in a panic on Wednesday when they saw two cubs of a wild animal in a sugarcane field. The villagers mistook them for tiger cubs and informed the forest department. The forest department team that reached the spot declared them to be wild cat cubs and left them in the sugarcane field and deployed two forest workers for monitoring.
Sugarcane was being peeled in the field of Nirdosh Yadav in Ataria Kiratpur of Forest Range Hargaon in Thana Imalia Sultanpur area on Wednesday afternoon. Meanwhile, two baby animals were seen there. People informed the forest department. Forest Inspector Gurunarayan Yadav, who reached the spot, saw the cubs and said that they were wild kittens, and left them in the field. Constable Ramshankar Bhargav and Munish were posted at the spot for guarding. Hargaon Ranger Binu Pal said that the cubs were of the wild cat species. People touched them. The cubs were left in the sugarcane field. No movement of tiger has been found around Ataria.
