Behta Mujawar. The body of an engineer trapped in a tunnel under construction in Telangana was found on the 32nd day. The body was identified by a chain and ring. Company officials will send the body to his home in Lucknow on Wednesday.
A part of the SLBC tunnel being constructed in Nagar Kurnool, Telangana, collapsed on February 22. Eight people, including labourers and engineers, were trapped inside it. Engineer Manoj Dwivedi was a resident of Matukari village in Bangarmau tehsil and lived in a house in Lucknow’s Ashiana. On receiving the news of the incident, his wife Swarnlata, brother-in-law Ramasare Dixit and brother-in-law Ashish went to Telangana on February 23. After staying there for several days, when the engineer was not found, everyone returned home on March 5. Since then, the family members were praying for his well-being day and night.
The engineer’s brother-in-law Ramasare Dixit said that the body was found on Tuesday. It has been identified as it was wearing a ring and a chain. The post-mortem is being conducted and the company and the administration will send the body on Wednesday. He said that on March 9, the rescue team had recovered the body of Punjab resident Gurpreet Singh. Six labourers are still missing. He said that the old mother Jamuna Devi is staying with her daughter Sunita Kumari in Sirauli, Hardoi. The house is locked. The deceased’s wife and sisters have not yet been informed about the body being found.
Scooty collides with e-rickshaw, youth injured
Safipur. Rahul (32) son of Ashok, a resident of Motinagar Mohalla of the city was returning home from Ganjmuradabad on a scooter on Monday night. He was seriously injured when his scooter collided with an e-rickshaw near Jamaldipur village of Kotwali. Passersby took him to CHC, from there he was referred to the district hospital.
