Raebareli. Rs 1.40 crore has been spent to develop Nagar Van in Rajapur forest of Salon area, but Nagar Van has not taken shape. The roads made for commuting have become dilapidated. At the same time, the wooden bridge built to attract people has broken down.
To keep the environment green and to allow people to enjoy natural beauty, the central government had announced the construction of Nagar Van in July 2022. For this, an area of 50 hectares was marked in Rajapur forest of Salon area. A budget of Rs 2 crore was approved and Rs 1.40 crore was allocated. Work on the scheme started and wire barricading was done. A dam was built.
A wooden bridge was built. Roads were built on all four sides. Fruit bearing plants like Jalebi, Karonda, Guava were planted on both sides of it. Attractive flowering plants were planted in the park. Rs 1.40 crore were spent on these works. The situation is such that due to lack of maintenance, only forest is left here now. Wild acacia bushes have surrounded the entire area.
Colourful flowers were planted in the Nagar Van. Along with this, cleanliness was also to be done. The condition is such that the plants have dried up due to lack of irrigation. This is the condition when the office of the Forest Officer and the guest house are at some distance from the Nagar Van. Despite this, no one comes to see it.
Nagar Van is not able to develop due to lack of budget.
The work of Nagar Van was started before our tenure. Currently, some work is pending due to lack of budget. The irregularities will be corrected. Nagar Van will be developed after getting the budget.
