Police have registered a case against three accused including a woman.
Mangal Prasad (57), a resident of Ghatampur village in Deeh police station area, was a farmer. On Sunday evening, he was going to the grocery store in the village to buy household items. During this time, the accused came armed with sticks and attacked him. Mangal Prasad was seriously injured in the attack. The family admitted Mangal to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on Monday evening.
The death of the father has caused turmoil among the son Gaya Prasad and other family members. On receiving the information of the old man’s death, the police came to the village and inquired about the incident from the villagers. There is a rivalry between the two parties. It is alleged that Mangal Prasad was murdered due to the rivalry.
Acting police station in-charge Satendra Kumar said that on the complaint of the deceased farmer’s son Gaya Prasad, a case of assault was registered against village residents Ramji Pathak, Sonu Pathak and Sonal Pathak. After the death of the farmer, sections of unintentional murder will be added to the case. Efforts are being made to arrest the accused.
