Reusa. A married woman from Itauri died on Thursday under suspicious circumstances. The police have sent the body for postmortem. Sardar Nisan Singh, a resident of Padariya village of Sadarpur, said that he had married his daughter Luv Preeti Kaur (30) to Guru Prakash Singh alias Gopi, a resident of Itauri, six years ago. He said that he had borrowed four lakh rupees from someone and given it to his son-in-law. He did not return that too.
He counted the cash as dowry and demanded extra cash. He said that he was torturing his daughter for not giving dowry. It is alleged that on 23rd April Guru Prakash beat his daughter badly. After this he forced her to eat poisonous substance.
