Lakhimpur Kheri News: Hopefully, now Palia will not become an island in flood

Paliakalan. Jalshakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh on Thursday performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the channelization to be done from upstream and downstream along the Sharda river. Here he also inaugurated 48 other projects. People have expressed hope that there will be no damage from the floods that come every year and Palia will be saved from becoming an island.

The state’s Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh reached the Sharda river bank to inaugurate 48 projects including work in the Sharda river at a cost of Rs 22.23 crore and lay the foundation stone of 20 projects. Addressing the people present at the venue, the Jal Shakti Minister said that the Chief Minister approved rescue operations to get rid of floods.

He said that due to the flood control work done in the most sensitive districts, erosion has reduced, due to which farms and houses have been protected. There has been zero loss of life. He said that strong embankments will be built on both the banks with the soil, gravel and sand extracted from dredging.

He said – Today we are getting electricity 24 hours a day and the government is also running continuous schemes to fulfill the needs of every citizen.
Along with talking about working with sensitivity and patience, he also explained in detail about the irrigation facilities. After this, he laid the foundation stone and inaugurated the projects and performed Bhoomi Pujan near the water on the river bank and started the work by giving tilak to Poklane drivers Dharma Singh, Vipin Gurjar, Vishal Sandeep and Vinod.
