Unnao. Ward boy Vinay Yadav absconded after embezzling Rs 16 lakh deposited in the account of Rogi Kalyan Samiti. When the mother registered the missing of her son on March 19, CMS got the bank account investigated. After this, the fraud came to light. On Thursday, CMS has constituted a three-member investigation team.
Vinay Yadav, a resident of Jurakhankheda Mohalla of the city, has been working as a ward boy in the district hospital for about eight years. He got the job after the death of his father Ramdhoop Yadav. Currently, he was looking after all the treasury related work as well as medical work.
On 18 March, he left home to go to the hospital for duty, but did not reach there. On 19 February, mother Phoolkesh lodged a missing complaint of her son in Sadar Kotwali. The police was searching for him. Meanwhile, CMS had to make other payments with the drug company as the financial year was ending. Due to this, on Wednesday, they sent the employees to the bank to deposit the cheque. It was found that the hospital did not have sufficient money in that account.
If hospital sources are to be believed, no money has been deposited in that account since April 2024. Money coming from prescription, ECG, plaster, operation and medical fees is deposited in that account. On discovering the embezzlement of lakhs of rupees, CMS Dr. RA Mirza called a meeting of doctors on Thursday afternoon and informed them about the whole matter.
During this time, OPD was also disrupted for an hour. The co-workers in the hospital told that Vinay was addicted to drugs and also used to gamble. It is being told that he has taken huge amount of money from many people of the locality.
CMS Dr. RA Mirza told that after the receipt was issued at the prescription counter, the money was deposited with Vinay. It used to go to the bank to deposit it. A three-member team has been formed for investigation. It includes Dr. Manoj Kumar, Dr. Vivek Gupta and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar
