Hargaon (Sitapur). There was a lot of commotion on Thursday at Lakhimpur railway crossing. The crossing closed four hours after the scheduled time. Traffic was not stopped till four in the afternoon, while the information about stopping the traffic from 12 noon was issued by the railway department. In such a situation, for four hours, people had to face problems on the changed routes and also had to cover more distance.
In fact, there is a diversion for five days for the erection of the girder (laying of slab) at railway crossing number 99 located on Lakhimpur Marg. The railway department had informed that due to the work, the traffic will be completely closed from 12 noon on Thursday to 12 noon on March 25.
In such a situation, people started using alternative routes from Thursday morning itself. A large number of vehicles were seen on these routes but this route was not closed till four in the afternoon. Small and big vehicles like buses etc. kept passing through this route.
Laharpur (Sitapur). After getting information about the diversion, there was a jam on the road from Laharpur via Lakhimpur via LRP Chowki. Small and big vehicles kept getting stuck in the jam several times. The road to Kesariganj market is narrow, there is less crowd here on normal days but there was a jam in the market on Thursday. Vehicles were seen moving slowly.
Rohit, who was coming from Lakhimpur to Sitapur, said that he wanted to come for some important work. At night, he got information about the track being closed from social media. So he did not leave. In the afternoon, he came to know that the track has not been closed at all. In such a situation, he thought that perhaps the track will not be closed today. He was about to leave on his bike when he again got information about the track being closed. In such a situation, a state of confusion remained with him.
