Laharpur. A speeding car lost control and fell off a culvert in the Kotwali area on Thursday morning. Five people travelling in the car were seriously injured in this accident. All of them were going from Pilibhit to Bahraich to attend a marriage function. Police reached the spot on receiving the information and sent all of them to the hospital in an ambulance.
Ranjeet (25), a resident of Motipur in Bahraich, Amit (27), Manoj (26), Surendra (27) and another person, residents of Bisalpur in Pilibhit, were going to Bahraich by car to attend a wedding procession. Their car went out of control near Khaniyapur village on the Lakhimpur Bahraich national highway and fell from a roadside culvert into a water-filled ditch. The villagers informed the police about the accident. On receiving the information, the police, with the help of the villagers, sent the injured to the Community Health Center, Nakkha, District Kheri in an ambulance. Seeing their serious condition, all of them were referred to Trauma Center, Oil, District Lakhimpur Kheri.
