Raebareli. Women suffering from poverty are sailing the boat of life on the strength of their skills. Many women have cleared the stain of poverty and registered their names in the list of Lakhpati Didi. There are about 14 thousand self-help groups in the district, in which about 1.50 lakh women are associated. Out of these, 2616 women are included in the list of Lakhpati Didi. About 790 women have started their own business and have become a source of inspiration for other women.

There are about 79 such groups in the district, which are earning huge profits by doing self-employment through joint efforts. Aajeevika Mission is playing an important role in motivating the groups for self-employment. Deputy Commissioner Self-Employment Rishi Pal Singh says that continuous efforts are being made to connect every woman of the village with self-employment. Women of the group are also being provided employment in other departments.

108 women have been made Sakhi in banks. These women are helping people in the village to withdraw money from the bank. Villagers do not have to go to the bank to withdraw money. Women of about 150 groups have been made Vidyut Sakhi by connecting them with the Power Corporation. All these women are collecting electricity bills from the villagers.
