Kamalapur (Sitapur). A young man was shot during celebratory firing in Bhagwanpur village of the area on Thursday. He got injured due to this. He has been referred to Lucknow for treatment.
It was the wedding of Tej Bahadur’s daughter, a resident of Majra Bahrimou of Bhagwanpur village. The wedding procession had come from Dhakiya village of Pisawan police station area. During the ‘Dwarchar’ ceremony, celebratory firing started. Meanwhile, Munendra (25) of the baraati side got shot in the hand.
The family took him to CHC, from where he was referred to Lucknow. Local people said that there is a possibility that the firing was done from a licensed weapon, but it is not known who fired the shot.
Kamalapur police was confused for a long time about which sections should be used to register the case. SHO Pradeep Singh said that investigation was done on the spot. Action will be taken after registering the case.
