Mailani. The Railway Board has approved the proposal to extend the Gorakhpur-Mailani-Gorakhpur Express to Pilibhit. Its time table has also been released. Soon the date of its operation to Pilibhit will be announced.
For the past several days, the residents of the area were demanding the extension of train number 15009/15010 Gorakhpur-Mailani-Gorakhpur Express to Pilibhit. On the recent visit of Chief Commercial/Operations Manager Gorakhpur Anup Kumar Satpathy, the Nagar Udyog Vyapar Mandal and Nagar Panchayat President Kirti Maheshwari gave him a memorandum demanding the extension of this train to Pilibhit, direct rail service to Bareilly and running of long distance trains.
NE Railway had sent a proposal to this effect to the Railway Board on January 6. Railway Board Joint Director Coaching Vivek Kumar Sinha has approved the extension of Gorakhpur Express to Pilibhit in a letter issued on January 15. This information has been given through a letter to the concerned officials including General Manager Operations Gorakhpur, Chief Passenger and Transport Manager Gorakhpur.
After the extension, train number 15009 Gorakhpur-Mailani Express will depart from Mailani at 11:30 and reach Pilibhit at 13:25. Similarly, on the return journey, train number 15010 will depart from Pilibhit at 16:25 and reach Mailani at 18:00 and leave Mailani at 18:05. The date of operation till Pilibhit has not been announced yet. Both trains will also stop at Puranpur.
